But yeah, as you say, for now they are busy with Proton Drive and Calendar.A curated list of tools and information relating to Standard Notes. I like the idea of the data being hosted in Switzerland too. I would love to use a Proton Notes service, if they ever made one. And I know ProtonMail is focused on Calendar and Drive but maybe this is something they can consider for future. I would switch in a heartbeat if they made one, but SN seems like the best there is for now. I wish ProtonMail would make their own encrypted notes app because I know these UI hiccups and bugs wouldn’t be an issue. note 1 was created before note 2), couldn’t you just arrange notes by ‘date added’ instead ‘title’? 001, 002, 003, 004 etc), might this be an acceptable workaround for you? I haven’t tested it on Standard Notes but I think it would ensure that file ‘002’ will come before ‘010’.Īlso, assuming you added each note in order (e.g. If you prefix your file names with leading zeros in the numbers (e.g. I organize a lot of my posts like this so trying to navigate through them is confusing. On the Desktop app, numbered notes within a folder are out of order. U/ProtonMail maybe this is a good future project to consider. SN performs its function as an encrypted notes application, but they have some serious work to do to fix these bugs and the UI experience, especially on the mobile app. On top of this, I’ve told support about all of these issues over a year ago and how it’s still not fixed is beyond me. Having almost 2000 notes these bugs make the app unusable, unnavigable at times. And I know I can go into the note and change the view to Bold Editor on mobile, but I need it to open to what I originally wrote the note in, I shouldn't have to change it every single time. The Plain Editor is the one that looks like code which is completely not what I want. On the mobile app, if I try to access a note that was originally written in the Bold Editor on Desktop, it shows up in the "Plain Editor" on mobile. On the desktop this is fine because each sub folder is indented from the top folder, but on the mobile app it just shows up as one HUGE list, with no indentations, making it extremely annoying and hard to find the sub folder I’m looking for. ALSO, on the mobile app, it’s practically impossible to navigate the folders and sub folders on my notes, because everything is just listed as hashtags.įolder 1 Sub folder a Sub folder b Sub sub folder i Sub sub folder ii Sub folder c Sub sub folder i Sub sub folder ii ![]() I often copy out text from my notes on the iOS app and it’s extremely difficult to highlight a section of the text that I want to copy. The mobile app, the screen real estate that the text edit controls and keyboard take up is so much to the point that it’s extremely difficult and annoying to copy and paste from any note. This is very time consuming and highly inefficient. ![]() I can't just drag notes from one folder to another, I have to actually make a new note and copy and paste my original note into the new note. I'm constantly re organizing my notes and I usually find I have to move some notes around. ![]() For some reason I can't move my notes from one folder to another. On the Desktop app, numbered notes within a folder are out of order. on the desktop, almost every time I navigate to a locked note and simply click the locked note I get an error- "1 item you are attempting to save is locked and cannot be edited." It’s pretty damn annoying to see this every time I navigate to a folder of notes and just have that pop up all the time. I like the philosophy of SN and to a certain extent it’s functionality, but I am NOT happy with certain things.
